No, amazon shorages = primarily NA shortages. The rest of the world, if you haven't noticed = PS3 victory.
M$ had a lot of proof against THEIR claim.
Sony already has 2 easily recognized 3rd party supporters showing that there were 40GB Shortages. That's Sony's main seller, especially to the casual market.

What does that tell you? Two pieces of 3rd party evidence already! Check the first string of post-replies for links.
But it's only temporary and could help build towards MUCH bigger things for the fall due to consumer anticipation. Sony isn't on thin ice right now. 14.47 million PS3s at this point isn't a travesty and Sony knows that. They've got momentum and may be tweaking it a little for long-term interest. Both the 360 and Wii worked this last year, now it's Sony's turn trying to get to 20 million by the end of 2008 (very possible).
Logic shows shortages + new product anticipation for the following week = poor PS3 sales this week.

Let me point out that in the gamer zone reasons for the PS3's sales are stated pretty clearly. Shortages (according to VG) and phase out of the 40gig for the 80gig. Those combined with the 360 price cut are the easy things to point to for the first real off week for the PS3 in a while.
Also worth noting is that next week's PS3 figures will obviously be back to normal if not higher. MGS4 80gig re-introduction (another reason for slow sales THIS week) and the continued phase out...

Check the post history and honestly read into that comment for just a second. If for one moment you can't sense the insult in that last sentence you're simply just ignoring the fact at hand. That was an ignorant comment backed up by an even more "no it's 3 hours" comment by two people who have never played MGS4.

Quite frankly, the biggest thing to me outside of past Sony loyalty to the PSone and PS2 (I love the PS3 too by the way) is reliabitity. I don't have the budget to see my console die on me or to pay for online while in school and yeah, M$'s treatment of the whole scene (buying their way into third party heaven) frustrates me beyond belief cause NEVER is about the gamer with them, just their wallets.

Siren was a fantastic game! I would certainly put it in there before the likes of Assassin's Creed and our shoddy version of Orange Box. It's my favorite true survival horror game to date!
